Working closely with industry experts, Platypus designed and developed proprietary software for Messenger Post Couriers which allows the wireless tracking of freight. Utilising Symbol scanners, parcels can be scanned using barcodes at their key points of contact during a journey ie. into the depot, out of the depot, into a van etc.

GPS allows this information to be transmitted to head office and a parcels location identified in real time. Signatures are then captured digitally upon acceptance of the parcel and sent back to a central database via GPS. The use of the Platypus application allowed, not only real time tracking, but saved MPC money due to the removal of the need for data entry.
